​多能性幹細胞

多能性幹細胞は、組織幹細胞と異なり、体を構成するほぼすべての細胞に分化できる幹細胞です。哺乳類の受精卵から樹立されるES細胞と、哺乳類の体細胞に特定の遺伝子を導入することで未分化状態に初期化したiPS細胞があります。本研究室ではES細胞を用いた組織の誘導及び解析、新たな動物種のiPS細胞樹立を目指して研究を行っています

 

Pluripotent stem cells are stem cells that can differentiate into almost all cells that consist of the body unlike tissue stem cells. There are two kind of pluripotent stem cells, ES cells that are established from fertilized mammalian eggs and iPS cells that are reprogrammed into an undifferentiated state by introducing specific genes into mammalian somatic cells. In our laboratory, we are conducting tissue induction and analysis using ES cells and establishing iPS cells from new animal species.
